Independent organizations operating in a limited area registered as a single common organization
It must be considered that the resident population in the vicinity of a large site, the local authorities and the bodies responsible for environmental control have a great interest in the existence of common responsibilities and a unique program for the environment that concerns the entire area.
Independent companies may eventually pool their resources to obtain a joint registration with EMAS.
In these cases, in order to obtain a common registration as the only organization, the participating organizations must be able to demonstrate a common responsibility (in terms of policies, procedures, etc.) for the management of significant environmental aspects and impacts, including in particular, the fixing of objectives and targets and corrective actions.
Organizations that jointly organize their EMS and obtain a common registration must all demonstrate a continuous improvement in performance in terms of significant environmental aspects and impacts, in line with their policy, their targets and their program.
It should be noted that the logo can only be used by the organization registered with EMAS and therefore, in the case of a business park, the logo could ONLY be used together with the designation of the business park. Individual organizations can still register individually in addition to the business park registration.
